Why is ergonomics important?

Good ergonomics are important for several different reasons. For those of you who work from home, ergonomics are extra important to be able to avoid stress injuries that can cause long-term problems in the neck, back or other parts of the body. This in turn can affect your overall well-being.

Stress injuries occur when you have loaded your body incorrectly for a long time. It may be because you are sitting, standing, lifting or moving in a way that is difficult for the body.

Good ergonomics together with movement affects our health and well-being in a positive sense and can make you more motivated and productive.

For best results both physically and mentally, the home office needs to be a place where you feel good.

As far as possible, there are three points to keep in mind for sustainable ergonomics at home:

Think about getting movement into your everyday life, change positions and think about variation in how you load the body in as healthy a way as possible and be sure to bring recovery into everyday life.
